Google Workshops Monday at HDEC

SRDC is sponsoring two Google seminars to provide the tools and resources for Vermont businesses to get online and succeed online. It will be held at the Howard Dean Education Center on Monday, July 2nd. These are free seminars for small businesses run by Google employees. Space is limited to 25 people per session, so register now!

Morning Seminar – Advanced Marketing Techniques – 9:00 am -12:00 pm

This morning session will quickly cover a wide variety of advanced marketing techniques that small businesses should consider implementing. Topics include Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Google Adwords and Social Media strategies to grow your business.

Afternoon Seminar – Get Online – 1:00 pm-4:00 pm

In this interactive afternoon session, Google will get your business a free website as well as set you up with Google Places – a great tool to increase online visibility.

Exporting Workshop Coming on June 18th to Springfield

If your company is currently exporting or seeking to learn what it takes to sell in the global marketplace, a workshop on “Exporting Fundamentals” will provide expert training on being successful and avoiding costly mistakes.

It will be held on Tuesday, June 19th from 8:30am to Noon at the Howard Dean Education Center, 307 South Street, Springfield, VT in cooperation with the Vermont Global Trade Partnership, U.S. Commercial Service, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the Export-Import Bank and the Vermont Manufacturing Extension Center. The workshop will be led by Michael Allocca, President of Allocca Enterprises, and world renowned international trade expert.

Topics covered include due diligence, knowing your customer, terms of sale, export documentation, and record keeping strategies and responsibilities.

“This is a great one-stop opportunity for a comprehensive review of what it takes to navigate the global marketplace,” said Brent Raymond, Vermont’s Director of International Trade. “Whether you’re new to exporting or want to review best practices, this will be time well spent. We receive only the highest feedback from participants, whether they attend to learn these important concepts for the first time, or have many years experience and are attending as a refresher.”

The workshop is being sponsored by KeyBank and presented by the Vermont Small Business Development Center, Brattleboro Development Credit Corp., Green Mountain Economic Development Corp., Springfield Regional Development Corp., Allocca Enterprises, and the Vermont Agency of Commerce’s Global Trade Partnership.
